• The lower tibia (which took the initial hit and compounded the bone, forcing the foot to face the opposite direction) has healed properly with the aid of a 5-inch plate. The lower fibula is not healing, however, and will probably get a plate as well. The leg brace has also been adjusted again to promote a perpendicular junction with the tibia. Weight bearing on the leg is at least four weeks away.
