Anyway, I had mentioned the cemetery's significant location. Talkeetna is home to several air taxi companies that provide flight seeing trips and support for Denali (McKinley) mountain climbers. Although other mountains are represented, most name plaques above show the names of those who have died trying to climb the 20,230 ft. mountain... from Allen Carpe of the U.S. in 1932 to Andrew Swanson, also of the U.S. in 2009. I counted 153 names of men and women from different countries. (closeup of quote at top)
