~ From Log Entry #10: June 17, 2005, outside of Boise, Idaho, during my bike ride across the U.S. ~

"As I've mentioned, riding a bike along the road allows one to see things you are likely to miss at 65 mph. I'm cruising south along the merged portion of Highways 20, 26, and 95, when I caught it out of the corner of my eye. "Oh my god," I thought, "is that what I think it is?" I braked and did a u-turn to investigate. Even then I had to look closely before I was sure it wasn't what I had initially thought."
