I often encounter discarded furniture along roads through more remote areas. It would seem to me that a still-usable, comfy aimchair and ottoman with a "free" sign placed on the curb in front of the house where it had probably resided for years before its owner(s) decided to get rid of it... would be the more proper and environmental thing to do. Though the lizard on the ottoman might not agree...
