| I've mentioned the free-ranging dogs before. These dogs do not live here at the entrance to Machu Picchu; their owners likely live down the hill in or near Agua Caliente. They make their way up here each morning because of all the tourists who feed them, and at the end of the day make their way back down the hill to go back home. When some of us took the steps back down yesterday instead of taking the bus, three or four dogs accompanied us. The dogs are not feral, just looking for a handout. |
