| On the way back to our hotel, we stopped at a small, outdoor roadside market... where these traditionally-dressed children immediately struck a pose with an alpaca as we pulled up. They were posing for a picture, payment is expected. When I took the picture, they held out their hands. I gave them what I had: un sol (one Peruvian dollar), which satisfied them. I would learn later that proper etiquette in this regard is to give payment first. |
