Yes, well, after the cricket experience, we turned west on Interstate 80 and found slim pickins' in the way of places to stay for the night. We settled on the Lazy K RV park (if it can be called that) on the outskirts of Lovelock. So, $18 allowed us this spot in the weeds, gravel and foxtails-- next to the road, almost under a bridge, next to barbed wire fence and within ground rumbling and earshot of a frequented (throughout the night) railroad track (another perspective). Oh, and unlike Snowy Peaks RV Park in British Columbia, the Lazy K had a bathroom and shower... but we did not use them. We were on the road by 7 the next morning.
