Even though their numbers had decreased significantly as we entered Mountain City, they were still everywhere. We noticed a visitor center on the right and decided to stop. Stepping out of the FED and tiptoeing around, we managed to get to and open the center's front door to talk to the elderly lady in charge-- who informed us that these were Mormon Crickets, a common occurence in these parts, but rare in these numbers.
