As stated by Jon Blum on his website: "The Kealia Coastal Boardwalk is a beautiful tranquil walkway and bird sanctuary, beside Maalaea Bay, in the Kealia Pond National Wildlife Refuge, on the south edge of Maui's central valley. This modern boardwalk through ancient wetlands allows you to see the home of many native and visiting birds." Not sure which are native or which are 'visiting', but I did get photos of three different birds.

Then we headed to up into the Iao (pronounced like 'meow' without the 'm') Valley, a popular tourist location. We wanted to see the Iao Needle, a sharp ridge that gives the appearance of being a spire when viewed end-on.

Kiteboarding at Kite Beach in Kahului, located on the southeast end of Kanaha Beach Park, is very popular. The beaches there are perfect for the sport. The photos show the story...
