| Usual full, economy-class conditions aboard a commercial jet: packed tightly like sardines in a can. At the Oakland airport, however, we had the opportunity to trade seats with a family who wanted to sit together. So Peggy and I ended up with seats next to an emergency exit, which provided first-class leg room. |
