| East past Silver Lake and Kirkwood Ski Resort is Caples Lake (7,900 feet). Highway 88, a few miles past Caples, peaks in elevation (8,574 feet) at Carson Pass before sweeping down through Hope Valley... and turning north on Highway 89 to Lake Tahoe. |
