| I had driven back south on Highway 445 from Pyramid Lake to head north on Highway 395 on my way to my next destination, Lake Almanor. From 395, I headed east on Highway 70 to reconnect with northbound Highway 89. It was on this narrow, winding road along the Feather River, I abruptly pulled over to see and photograph Soda Rock, also known as Ch'ichy'yam-bam, a rock formation that features prominently in Maidu creation myths.
