Crater Lake National Park. I secured a campsite the night before at Mazama Campground, located about 7 miles south of Crater Lake itself (surface elevation: 6,178 feet). Road distance around the lake (Rim Drive) is 33 miles... +7 miles up and back... about 47 miles altogether. Not as far as Tahoe, but steeper climbs and descents. The ride, however, took seven hours-- because there was so much to see. I stopped at all the vista points and in between to gaze down and across in wonder along the crater's rim, attemping to take in all the ancient, sweeping landscape that stretched for miles in all directions under a blue, cloud-adorned sky.

Yeah, and I took lots of pictures. I decided the best way to show the pictures here was to organize them into categories... in the order they were first encountered, as I rode my two-wheeler counter-clockwise around Crater Lake...
