| Lava Tree State Monument is off of Highway 132. "In 1790, Kilauea Volcano spewed a flood of lava up to 10 ft. deep through the rainforest, enveloping ohia trees before receding. The lava hardened around the trees, which burned away, creating lava molds which remain today." |
