| At the other end of the library was a magnificent, marble statue of Queen Ann (1746). Our docent did point out that the statue was not an accurate recreation of the queen. She was actually 4'11'', rather plump, and suffered from bouts of gout. Nevertheless, the detail in the carving is unparalleled when observed closely. |
