| Across the street from the Albert Memorial is the Royal Albert Hall, which can seat well over 5,000 people. It was built and opened by Queen Victoria in 1871 and is now one of Great Britain's most treasured and distinctive buildings, hosting more than 350 events each year, like classical concerts, rock and pop, ballet and opera, sports, award ceremonies, school and community events, charity performances and banquets. |
