On the left is a plaster replica of an extinct giant ground sloth (mammal not dinosaur) that lived in the grasslands of South America about 10,000 years ago. The plaster skeleton was made in 1848 and has been on display since 1850. On the right is dramatization of how the ozone layer protects the whole Earth from absorbing too many ultra-violet rays from the sun.
