| The London Eye is the tallest Ferris wheel in Europe, and the most popular paid tourist attraction in the United Kingdom, visited by over 3.5 million people annually. When erected in 1999 it was the tallest at 434ft. The tallest one now is the Singapore Flyer, built in 2008, at 541ft. The York Wheel we had stood next to a few days before is a mere 177ft tall. |
