Last day driving the JellyBean. After three weeks, I became fairly proficient driving on the 'other' side of the road… except for the narrow and tightly-packed streets of larger cities. The day before, we attempted to find the illusive launderette in the city of Durham. After a few frantic turns and roundabouts, we did find one… it was closed on Wednesdays. "Forget it," we agreed and headed to the town of Bowburn 4-miles south and the Bowburn Hall Hotel… where we handwashed and hung to dry two pairs of underwear, socks, and shirts and hung them on a large 2nd story room window to dry. Then we hit the bar downstairs for some refreshment.

The following morning, we had decided that since we were here, we should see the Durham Cathedral. The plan: park somewhere in the outskirts of town and walk the rest of the way. It was a good plan. We parked near the River Wear… followed a green walkway along a calm river, crossed the picturesque Prebends' Bridge (late 18th century), walked through a few tunnels, and we were at the cathedral.

Then back to the JellyBean and down the carriageway to York… where we 'managed' to find the local AVIS to drop off and say goodbye to the JellyBean (code name: Vanilla)... and roll our luggage to the Hampton by Hilton within the ancient walls of York.
