Then I walked over and looked down the hallway of classrooms. The door to the principal's office was open and the light was on. I was sent to Sister Augustine a couple of times. Of course, not all my memories of St. Peter's was 'painful'. Sister Mariam was not only an excellent and compassionate teacher, she was a good friend of our family during our stay in Plattsburgh. Nevertheless, I did not venture down the hallway to look inside.
