Last stop: Goose Lake on the Oregon-California border... that is, the north end being in Oregon and south end in California... depending on what side of the street you're on. More precisely, Goose Lake straddles the border very close to the northeast corner of California on Highway 395. The closest major town/city is Alturas, CA. Lots of birds.
On the way back to Modesto, in the center of California, we stopped at Burney falls (a few miles north of where Highways 299 and 89 intersect... and Mt. Lassen... and finished an amazing adventure from west to east and back, across the North American continent.
