Was it the Bangles who had a tune called "Walk Like an Egyptian"? That's what the ladies above were singing as I rode by. The gentlemen below currently lives in Palo Alto, CA, but is originally from Belgium. He was wearing a jersey illustrating some climbs in the Alps of Europe measured in meters, 1,860 or something close. I was converting the number to feet out loud when he interrupted me and said, "about 6,000 feet." I said, "Nothin' like these Alps, eh?" Which led to talk of the Tour de France and how it doesn't matter in a race setting how high or steep a mountain is... but how fast you can get to the top... not a concern for us.
