The U.S. Supreme Court was established in 1787 at the Philadelphia Constitutional Convention. It provides the last stop in the disposition of the nation's disputes and issues of constitutionality. Notable cases under the Warren Court: Brown v. Board of Education 1954, which abolished racial segregation in schools; Miranda v. Arizona 1966, which declared crime suspects were entitled to a lawyer before being interrogated. Before moving to this building in 1935, the Supreme Court met in various sections of the U.S. Capitol building.
