Every once in a while, the glacier would make a sort of wrenching sound. Everyone would then rush to the railing hoping for a calving of ice to sheer off the glacier into the water. Saw a 6-story calving once in Glacier Bay NP near Alaska. This was much smaller, but a calving nevertheless.
