The house is not typical, in that it was built into a hill. From the street, you see the second story. A flight of stairs takes you to where the first story was affected. The demolished floor above was made up of hollow-core, low-fired Mexican paver tile... more brittle and absorbant. The sewage seeped into the tile and, therefore, had to be jackhammered from the foundation... after the load-bearing walls were removed. This shot was taken from the master bedroom and shows the far room with the painted flowers (my office), the bathroom door and entry way to the stairwell up on the right, and the center room (Peggy's office)...
